Success
There is only one success — to be able to spend your own life in your own way. ![]() Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise. Seek what they sought. ![]() Use missteps as stepping stones to deeper understanding and greater achievement. ![]() Blessed is he who has learned to admire but not envy, to follow but not imitate, to praise but not flatter, and to lead but not manipulate. ![]() Never follow somebody else's path; it doesn't work the same way twice for anyone...the path follows you and rolls up behind you as you walk, forcing the next person to find their own way. ![]() And when the future hinges on the next words that are said, Don't let logic interfere, believe your heart instead. ![]() When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before. ![]() It is for us to pray not for tasks equal to our powers, but for powers equal to our tasks, to go forward with a great desire forever beating at the door of our hearts as we travel toward our distant goal. ![]() Put your heart, mind, intellect and soul even to your smallest acts. This is the secret of success. ![]() Happiness does not come from doing easy work but from the afterglow of satisfaction that comes after the achievement of a difficult task that demanded our best. ![]() True nobility is in being superior to your previous self. ![]() He that wrestles with us strengthens our nerves and sharpens our skill. Our antagonist in our helper. ![]() First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do. ![]() Life is pretty simple: You do some stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works. If it works big, others quickly copy it. Then you do something else. The trick is the doing something else. ![]() It is only as we develop others that we permanently succeed. ![]() All that is worth cherishing begins in the heart, not the head. ![]() We may run, walk, stumble, drive, or fly, but let us never lost sight of the reason for the journey, or miss a chance to see a rainbow on the way. ![]() Our greatest glory consists not in never failing, but in rising every time we fall. ![]() If you can spend a perfectly useless afternoon in a perfectly useless manner, you have learned how to live. ![]() If it takes a lot of words to say what you have in mind, give it more thought. ![]() One very important ingredient of success is a good, wide-awake, persistent, tireless enemy. ![]() Love all. Trust a few. Do wrong to none. ![]() You must learn from your past mistakes, but not lean on your past successes. ![]() A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone. ![]() The victory of success is half won when one gains the habit of setting goals and achieving them. Even the most tedious chore will become endurable as you parade through each day convinced that every task, no matter how menial or boring, brings you closer to fulfilling your dreams. ![]() The last dejected effort often becomes the winning stroke. ![]() Never do anything that you aren't prepared to face the true consequences of. ![]() The way to succeed is to double your error rate. ![]() And in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. ![]() The truth is that all of us attain the greatest success and happiness possible in this life whenever we use our native capacities to their greatest extent. ![]() Health is the greatest possession. Contentment is the greatest treasure. Confidence is the greatest friend. Non-being is the greatest joy. ![]() Nothing of importance is ever achieved without discipline. But the discipline you have in your life should be one determined by your own desires and your own needs, not put upon you by society or authority. ![]() Success lulls us into complacency and sometimes even arrogance. ![]() The best use of life is to spend it for something that outlasts life. ![]() When you have confidence, you can have a lot of fun. And when you have fun, you can do amazing things. ![]() I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. ![]() Become addicted to constant and never-ending self improvement. ![]() Listen to your heart, because in the end it is your heart that matters. ![]() We are told that talent creates its own opportunities. But it sometimes seems that intense desire creates not only its own opportunities, but its own talents. ![]() I am convinced that attitude is the key to success or failure in almost any of life's endeavors. Your attitude — your perspective, your outlook, how you feel about yourself, how you feel about other people — determines your priorities, your actions, your values. Your attitude determines how you interact with other people and how you interact with yourself. ![]() The miracle is this — the more we share, the more we have. ![]() Taking the first footstep with a good thought, the second with a good word, and the third with a good deed, I entered paradise. ![]() What is success? I think it is a mixture of having a flair for the thing that you are doing; knowing that it is not enough, that you have got to have hard work and a certain sense of purpose. ![]() I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve. ![]() Always bear in mind that your own resolution to success is more important than any other one thing. ![]() Don't let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use. ![]() When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid. |
